Activity Fund:  Sept. 1, 2011 - $8953.66    Oct. 5, 2011 - $7158.52

The Treasurer's report was accepted as presented.

Old Business: President Michael Reviewed the Club's Finances. Unless the Club Members can come up with some fund raisers, that we all participate in, we are in financial trouble. On almost every meeting we have had, with a meal, we lost money. For the year our payments for breakfast left us $114.73 in the hole. After all our monetary items such as the raffle, tail twisting, dues, fund raising and payment of the LCIF, MD4 and District dues plus supplies and miscellaneous (including the breakfast loss) our Administrative fund is -$231.07. The one other fund raiser we have had is the calendar raffle sales. We committed for our Club to buy (and sell) 125 calendars which were to be sold for $10.00 each ($1250.00). If we had sold all the calendars the Club would have made $625.00.  Our members have sold 82. This means the Club is holding the bag for $430.00. With our finances, this loss in the Administrative fund will be hard to make up. The Club desperately needs to come up with Administrative Fund fund raisers. Members need to come up with suggestions for these fund raisers and fully support them.

New Business: Everyone was encouraged to attend the Cabinet Meeting on November 5. It is to be held at the Pomona Valley Mining Company.

In Line with our need for fund raisers we had a speaker today. Ms. Sherry Ruffin, fund raising representative for Total Resources Intl. spoke to us about using emergency survival kits as a method of raising funds for our Club. Her company has 13 different kits which can offer assistance with most any kind of emergency. These kits are designed for home, office, school, outdoors, sports, auto and travel situations. Depending on the type kit the Club could receive 30 to 50 percent of the items sales price for our needy fund. Ms. Ruffin left information with us regarding the program and how to get started.

Ms. Sherry Ruffin
Lion Ken M. Informed the Club that Upland Host Lions has been asked to coordinate this years Upland Christmas Parade. This means we will have a broad responsibility for planning and implementing the success of the parade. Ken mentioned that it will require more manpower than we have and we need to solicit help from other Clubs in the area. This will require further action and discussion in the near future.
