Programs - April, 2016:
April 4, 2016 - Monthly Board Meeting. Minutes of this meeting were prepared and placed on the Club's blog for everyone to review and comment.April 18, 2016 - Our program tonight was a Service Project. One of our members recently met the Director of Mariposa Community Services (a branch of New Hope - Homeless Outreach & Services) and they discussed the need for hygiene items for the homeless. Mariposa Community Services provides Clothing, Hygiene Items, Blankets and other survival needs. This Community Service was brought back and discussed at the Club and we decided to participate by preparing hygiene bags for them. Club members began collecting items for the bags. Over a period of several weeks we collected combs, socks, toothbrushes, lip balm, toothpaste, wash cloths, and many other items for the bags. Tonight all Club members assembled bags of these items for the donation. At the end of the evening the Club had assembled 60 bags to donate to Mariposa Community Services. These bags will be distributed to the needy and homeless people in our area.

Other Items Worthy Of Mention:
On April 2nd and 3rd, 2016 a Health Fair was held at the Anaheim Convention Center. Unfortunately prior to those dates the original sponsor backed out. District Governor Ken M. was asked if Lions would assume sponsorship and after some thought and discussion with Clubs in the District it was agreed that Lions would sponsor this Health Fair. We used the District 4-L4 Sight and Hearing Van and with the help of several Clubs and LEOs in the District we had a very successful Health Fair. During the Fair we conducted 160 eye exams and provided new glasses for 130 people. During this Fair many other needs were taken care of such as dental exams, physical exams of all sorts and etc. were taken care of during the two day period. Over 1,000 people were screened by all the different medical services available.
